<p>The interesting thing is that sometimes we call these &#8220;drips&#8221; and they annoy us like crazy &#8211; like when they&#8217;re dripping from a leaky faucet. Sometimes thought, the last drop is exactly what we need &#8211; like the last drop in the bottom of a water bottle on a hot summer day. Or sometimes we throw a few splashes on our faces to freshen up or wake up when we&#8217;re dozy.</p>
<p>Water&#8217;s a pretty versatile element when it comes right down to it.</p>

<p>This is a trip down memory lane for me. I took this photo on Pelee Island in early summer, when I was there doing research for an oral history project.  </p>
<p>I wish I had more time to spend on Pelee. I&#8217;d live there in a heartbeat if I could organize my life to make it possible. It&#8217;s definitely on my someday maybe list.<br />

<p>I have a thing for sticks, especially driftwood. I like the feel, the smell (unless it&#8217;s like, dead fish or something). I like the beach and that what it reminds me of. I also like the aged, distressed look &#8211; it&#8217;s kind of like me.</p>

No flies and no risk of sunburn either as I sit on my couch and look out at the water in this photo.</p>

Of course there&#8217;s no perfect line in that scene compared to the one where old Mr. Miyagi gets Ralph to polish all the old cars&#8230;</p>
