According to lepiaf.geo, the photographer here, this spiral can be described by as a logarithmic spiral. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this sort of math but here it is:

In parametric form, the curve is
x(t)=r cos(t)=(ae)exp(bt) cos(t)
Y(t)=r sin(t)=(ae)exp(bt) sin(t)
with real numbers a and b.

It can be hard to identify the subject of a macro shot. Take this picture for example: did you know right away that it was a flower from Willistead Park in Walkerville, Windsor, Ontario? Or did you think it was some sort of many-headed-alien-outer-space creature that landed here for the weekend?

This photo was taken in January 2006 so there’s no telling if these keys would still be there. If they’re yours, you’ll have to take a walk through Walkerville looking for a gate like this.
