It’s been misty the past few mornings and I’m starting to notice the nights are longer and the sun rising later. This is my favourite time of year. Now if I can just guard against catching the nasty colds that are going around.

That Time of Year Again

I’ve seen a few now, mostly down by the water. It won’t be long until they reach inland.

I dread the sound of crunching skeletons underfoot but it’s unavoidable when there are so many fishflies/june bugs that there’s nowhere to step. Though since the weather’s so different this year maybe the number of bugs will be different too?

I bought more sparklers! Now I just need to wait for dark on a night that’s not a school night, so I can go out and take more light painting pictures like this old one from 2005. This photo was taken on Windsor’s West Side.

Girl Power

This photo shoot was probably my all-time favourite of all the shoots I have ever done. It’s called Light Painting and I learned how to do it from Adam Conolly when I used to attend Toronto Photo Meetup events. This one was taken in my old backyard on the Westside of Windsor.

A few years ago I was organizing the Windsor Photo Meetup group (whose website has fallen terribly by the wayside). I wonder, now that digital photography has taken hold with the masses if anyone would be interested in meeting up for some photoroaming? If so, leave a comment or send an email to info at blogwindsor dot com. As the weather improves it will only get better for exploring and photographing what we find.

Spores

These spores are popping up all over the city. It seems to be some type of growth that clings to brick, vinyl siding, wooden fences and other outcroppings. Sometimes they appear in clusters although they can be found alone as well. Usually where there is one there will soon be many.

Something about Sunsets

Maybe because I’m tired of winter or maybe because I’ve been daydreaming about a California vacation, I just can’t resist the recent surge of sunset pictures on flickr. Can you tell that Windsor is under snow in this picture? (Besides the ice in the river?)
