The water was high

Peaceful days. The water is smooth as glass and it’s so quiet. All I can hear is the hum of my computer’s fan and the occasional cycling of the hard drive. No flies and no risk of sunburn either as I sit on my couch and look out at the water in this photo.

This is absolutely one of my favourite things to do: sit in the sunshine in a beautiful garden with a friend, a baby, and a plate of yummies. Looks like these women are enjoying it as much as I would.

It can be hard to identify the subject of a macro shot. Take this picture for example: did you know right away that it was a flower from Willistead Park in Walkerville, Windsor, Ontario? Or did you think it was some sort of many-headed-alien-outer-space creature that landed here for the weekend?

A Sunflower of My Very Own

When I got home from vacation on Sunday night I couldn’t believe the garden. The tomato plants are almost six feet tall and the sunflowers and morning glories are all in bloom. omsu took this photo while we ate breakfast on the deck surrounded by all the beautiful flowers.
