One week! School is starting up again next week. You’ve got a few more days to get in all that summer fun you planned for this year.

This school looks like it might have been pretty crowded but the kids don’t look too upset. Gosfield North is east of Essex, Ontario and north of Cottam (which is north of Kingsville).

Swirling Scarves

Bellydancing continues to grow in popularity. There are several teachers now in Windsor and Essex County and ‘Harem Scarem’ is the community performance in October where dancers from all over come together for a night full of music and dancing. You can find out more at Belly Dance Essex.

Belly Dance Open House

Friday LoLdogs

Friday again and the last day of February too. It’s a leap year this year and somone somewhere is celebrating their leap year birthday. Do you know any February 29 birthdays? If so, you should call them up or send an email or something — it’ll be four years before you get another chance.

For today’s Feline Friday picture here’s a big dog — a Great Pyrenee as a matter of fact — out enjoying the fresh air in Essex County, Ontario.

A Total Lunar Eclipse

Last night, February 20th, 2008, a lunar eclipse was visible to nearly a billion people in the Western Hemisphere, more than 1.5 billion in Europe and Africa, and about another half-billion in western Asia.

The skies were clear here making the show a great one for Windsorites. It was very cool (and literally icy cold) standing outside in pajamas watching the progress.

Fire’s Burning

These photos were taken just outside of Essex, Ontario near Arner Townline at Highway #3. The farmhouse burned down. No one was hurt but what a lot of smoke.
