I cannot believe I still have never made it out to John R. Park Homestead. My kids have each been there on class field trips — the best of those being for a sugar shack/cabane à sucre) at maple syrup time.

The house and farm buildings were built in 1842 and have been restored to show life in the nineteenth century. It’s also on the water and there’s a boardwalk for strolls. One of these days I’m going to have to make the trek. It’s located on the shore of Lake Erie between the towns of Kingsville and Colchester at 915 County Road 50 at Iler Road. There are great directions on the ERCA website.
