Math in Nature

According to lepiaf.geo, the photographer here, this spiral can be described by as a logarithmic spiral. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this sort of math but here it is:

In parametric form, the curve is
x(t)=r cos(t)=(ae)exp(bt) cos(t)
Y(t)=r sin(t)=(ae)exp(bt) sin(t)

with real numbers a and b.

    And if I’m not mistaken, the ratio of the diameter of one spiral to the outside one around it is the golden mean.
