Someone told me that Windsor was labeled the “Rose City” because of a donation of rose plants. What would we be called if the donation had been sausages, dog collars, or fly-traps? Or what if they’d said thank you, planted the roses and then the citizens picked a native plant to identify with or developed leadership in technology? entertainment? industry? environmentalism? and became a “City of Something” because of excellence and an earned reputation?
