The Cemba

When I was a kid spending summertime out on Lake Erie and Pelee Island with my family we were always on the lookout for the Cemba. It was always there — from as far back as I can remember. It was still there last year when I went back for a visit. Somethings don’t change.

    Yep She is a real salty vessel with that high bow. As a member of the coastguard auxilliary She has participated in many rescues. She is actually an oiler carrying fuel to the island in her hull tanks. She is all diesel and even carries high octane gasoline. They continuously purge tanks with exhaust gases to decrease explosion risk. When they say No Smoking…….
