The parallel 42° north passes through the very tip of mainland Canada at Point Pelee Ontario. It also passes through Spain, the Mediterranean Sea, France (Corsica), Italy, the Adriatic Sea, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia (Kosovo), Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey (European part), the Black Sea, Turkey (Asian part), Georgia, Russia, the Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, People’s Republic of China, Mongolia, North Korea, the Sea of Japan, Japan (Island of Hokkaido), the Pacific Ocean, the United States, the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal and Andorra. If you drive out to the visitor’s centre and then walk out to the tip (or take the trolley in the warm months) you’ll find this sign marking it.
