They weren’t the first, they won’t be the last. Someone carved these sweethearts’ names in the wood at Lighthouse Point, Pelee Island. Typically there’s also a year to mark the height of the relationship’s passion but in this case all we have is the heart and the flourish line below the names.

Who knows where Brian and Lorna are today? Did their love survive the weekend getaway? The summer escape to a land of beaches? This is the stuff of fairytales…

Loved the photo! My husband, of 30 years, is named Brian. This was not us, but makes me wonder how many more Brian and Lorna’s are out there.
