I am on my way to Canada
That cold and distant land
The dire effect of slavery
I can no longer stand -
Farewell, old master
Don’t come after me
I am on my way to Canada
Where coloured men are free

Sandwich Church, originally uploaded by ujima.
The church, located on Peter Street near Prince Road on Windsor’s West side, was built in 1841 out of logs and rebuilt with bricks ten years later, in 1851 on land deeded by Queen Victoria.
The church is a popular stop for bus tours following the Underground Railway.
