Instead of throwing things in the garbage, some charities organize trucks that will come to your house and pick up your gently used clothing, furniture, and household items. They take them to stores like Value Village and sell them.

Sometimes it’s a deal. Sometimes it isn’t. It all depends on what you’re looking for and how quickly you need it. If you can go once a week (or more) you’re more likely to get a deal. Sometimes the clearance prices at a store like Winners are cheaper than the prices at VV and sometimes even the regular prices at Zellers are cheaper. It used to be that second-hand stores were always cheaper but not anymore. The best part is browsing for treasure.
