Kites are great for beaches. No high rises or trees to watch for (as long as the wind is offshore). The presence of the clouds in this picture give an idea of just how high this kite got up — which looks to me like pretty high. Makes me think I’ll pack a kite for the beach this weekend.

it got up to 330m ( the end of my string) in this picture is around 100-150m up.

That’s awesome kavvz. I saw that happen only once in my life — and the kite string wasn’t tied to the roll at the end. When it got to the end of its string, the kite took off into the air and was lost to a tree several blocks away. It must have been a hoot watching the group of us run down the street after it.
