This Canada Goose is hilarious. I can’t tell if it’s washing its tail feathers or looking at something on the boardwalk really closely.
I’m not a hardcore birder. I like it when birds land in my garden and I like the kind of birding where I go for a walk and see the birds that think my garden is too far away. I guess you could call it passive birding.

The warm weather brings leaves for the trees, lots of rain, and Bugs!
There are some pretty cool ones around Windsor-Essex County, but actually, if you look at any insect closely, their bodies are incredible. And they’re real, not science fiction.

It’s Friday again — spring just keeps on coming. Today’s shot is a Windsor lol-toad, ready for your captions.
I don’t think lol-toads are as funny as a lol-cats though.

Some people go to the woods to see the birds. Others go to see the birders.
This group of birders was spotted in Point Pelee National Park in May 2003. Birder-watching continues to be popular this time of year. Birders are commonly found in Southwestern Ontario parks, where their main attraction, the migrating birds, are returning from their winter homes.

I bought more sparklers! Now I just need to wait for dark on a night that’s not a school night, so I can go out and take more light painting pictures like this old one from 2005. This photo was taken on Windsor’s West Side.
The process of photography can be as much fun as sharing the pictures after their taken. Light painting is proof of that.

With the spring flowers come the spring bugs.
Don’t worry about them though. They like the flowers better than they like you. Flowers taste way better.
